John Nelson Jr. is a recognized leader in the affordable housing and sustainable community development industry, particularly in the field of public housing transformation. As a principal of J. Nelson & Associates, he has more than 50 years of experience in successfully transforming some of the nation’s largest and most troubled Public Housing Authorities and Cities. These include the authorities in the cities of Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Chicago and Detroit. JNA Principal, John Nelson Jr., has served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Chief operating Officer in three (3) of the largest urban housing authorities in the country: New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. In addition, Mr. Nelson also served as the Operation Director at the Housing Authority of the City of Houston. During his tenure as an CEO, he has overseen the management of as many as 16,000 employees and budgets of $5.1 to $1.2 billion dollars. His keen business style has resulted in the resurrection of both small and large housing authorities. He has also served as the principal planner in the development of several urban renewal programs and the structuring of several businesses at the public housing entities.
Kathryn Gough Muhammad: Co-Founder, CEO, Board Member, Scientist, Business Owner
Kathryn Gough is the the founder of Wild Horses Travel Club, a 501c3 that assisted in the travel of students to oversea locations for high school and college credit. She is the co- founder of Making Moves in the Community, Incorporated and the project manager of PROJECT: MASKUP , a non profit organization that provides mask and other sanitary supplies to the community during the Covid-19 crisis. She is a former chemistry and biology instructor for Jackson Public Schools in Jackson, Mississippi as well as Envision Academy in Oakland, California. She currently resides in California, but will be making her way back to Mississippi shortly.
She is the mother of three and has been married to David Muhammad for 25 years.

Ms. Burton was born and raised in Mound Bayou, MS. She attended J.F. Kennedy High School in Mound Bayou, MS. She majored in Mechanical Engineering at University of Memphis, certified as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, certified by CompTIA as a Security+ (IT security knowledge) and recently licensed by Yale University in Financial Markets under the tutelage of NOBEL Prize in Economic Sciences, Robert Shiller.
